LONNIE MADISON

Experience: Coach Madison is entering his 23rd year in coaching. He is entering his 3rd year as the Head Coach at Bridgeland High School.  Over the last two seasons the Bears are 21-4 and back to back District Champions. In 2024 the Bears finished 12-2 (District Champions and State Quarterfinalist. Coach Madison has been recognized as the 16-6A Coach of the Year in 2023 and 2024. Prior to Bridgeland he spent 6 years as the Head Coach at College Park HS where they won District in 2020 and he was the 2020 13-6A Coach of the Year. 

College: Graduate of Texas A&M University where he played football from 1997-2001. Member of the 1998 Big 12 Championship Team.

Personal: Coach Madison and his wife Leslie have 3 children. Mallory 20, Morgan 18, and Case 15.

TRENT SOLSMA

Offensive Coordinator/Head Boys Golf Coach

Experience: Coach Solsma is entering his 7th year in coaching. He is entering his 3rd year as the offensive coordinator at Bridgeland High School.  Over the last two seasons, the Bears offense has averaged nearly 40 points and 400 yards per game. Prior to Bridgeland, Coach Solsma spent 3 seasons coaching wide receivers at Cinco Ranch High School, and one season at Waltrip High School coaching running backs.

College: Graduate of Morningside College where he played quarterback from 2014-2018. Member of 2018 NAIA national championship team and was named 2018 NAIA player of the year.

Personal: Coach Solsma and his wife Jen have a daughter, Harper (2), and welcomed their son Hayden in April.

LLOYD SPOTTED-WOLF

Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Line/ Recruiting Coordinator

Experience: This is Coach Spotted Wolf’s 29th year coaching, including 12 years collegiate coaching, having served as Head Coach and multiple stints as Offensive Coordinator. Coach has been a part of three State Championships and a National Championship at Blinn College. His highlights include having coached NFL Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher (New Mexico) and Cam Newton (Blinn), as well as having coached the first pure Deep Snapper ever drafted in the NFL (Joe Maese – Ravens).

College: Adams State University (Alamosa, CO – English & Exercise Physiology) and University of New Mexico (MS – Sports Administration) Personal: Married for 16 years to Ashley, with three children, Elizabeth (14), Rock (10), and Presley (6). Coach teaches English IV-K, is involved with Coaches Outreach Bible Study, and was Bridgeland High School's Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle Leader for several years.

DREW SEXTON

Experience: Coach Sexton is entering his 9th year in coaching. He is entering his 3rd year at Bridgeland High School.  Over the last two seasons the Bears are 21-4 and back to back District Champions. In 2024 the Bears finished 12-2 (District Champions and State Quarterfinalist. The Bridgeland Defense has finish 1st the last two years in Total Defense, Rush Defense and Pass Defense. Prior to Bridgeland he spent 5 years at Tomball Memorial High School and 1 year at Allen High School. 

College: Graduate of the University of Houston

Personal: Coach Sexton and his wife Cassidy welcomed a baby girl Charlee this past year.

HUNTER RAMSEY

Co-Defensive Coordinator/Inside Linebackers Coach

Experience: Coach Ramsey is entering his 12th season coaching. He has had stops at Trinity University, The University of Tulsa, Converse Judson High School, Leander High School, and Rusk High School. He has coached or worked with every position on the defense, is a CSCS, and has been a Head Track Coach as well. College: Graduate of Trinity University in 2013 and a 3-year letterwinner as a defensive back and punt returner. 

Personal: Coach Ramsey and his wife Ashley (Geometry teacher at Bridgeland) have one daughter, Raeya Mae (3). 

ANTHONY LIMON

Running Backs/Assistant Wrestling Coach

Hometown: Austin, TX Experience: Coach Limon is entering his 35th year in coaching. He is entering his 3rd year as a varsity assistant at Bridgeland High School. Previous experiences include being both an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and a head football coach at Sam Houston High School. Prior to arriving at Bridgeland High School other stops include Klein HS, Klein Collins HS, Nimitz HS, Bastrop HS and Edinburg HS.   

College: Played at Texas Lutheran University. Graduate of Southwest Texas State University (Texas State)

Personal: Coach Limon and Lydia love traveling, cruises and spending time with family

AARON HUGHES

Offensive Line

Experience: Coach Hughes is entering his 10th year in coaching. He is entering his 3rd year as the Bears Offensive Line Coach, during this time the bears have won back district championships, and has had a offensive line unit that has set school records for rushing and the least sacks allowed in a season. Before coming to Bridgeland Coach Hughes was the Run Game Coordinator at Brazosport HS and has had stops at Santa Fe and Summer Creek HS respectively.

College: BA from Sam Houston State University in 2016 where he played football. M.Ed. from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2025 Personal: Coach Hughes loves to travel, bbq, and play golf

BRETT BARRETT

Offensive Line Coach/Video Coordinator

Experience: Coach Barrett is entering his 13th year in coaching. He is entering his 3rd year as the assistant offensive line coach. Over the past 4 years, he has been a part of 3 district championship teams. He started coaching at Scarborough High School, Klein Collins High School, and most recently Cypress Park High School.

College: BS from Texas A&M University, Class of 2006 and MS from University of Texas at Arlington

Personal: Coach Barrett and his wife Nicole have 3 children, Joel, Skylar and Parker

ROBERT DEDEAR

Experience: Coach DeDear is entering his 5th year in coaching both football and baseball all here at Bridgeland High School. This is his 2nd year coaching the outside linebackers and previously coached the defensive and offensive lines. Prior to coaching at the high school level, Coach DeDear volunteered as a coach for 15 years for both CFSA and AAYFDT.

College: Graduated from the University of Houston Downtown in 2021 with a BS in History. Played football at Friends University from 1999-2000.

Personal: Coach DeDear and his wife, Cynthia, have been married for 19 years. Together they have 3 boys: Robert (17), who is a senior at Bridgeland, Taylor (15), who is a freshman at Bridgeland, and Jameson (2).

CHIP EHLERT

Experience: Coach Ehlert is entering his 12th year in coaching. He is entering his 2nd year at Bridgeland High School.  Before coming to Bridgeland, Coach Ehlert spent 10 years at College Park High School where he coached Wide Receivers and Running backs, 2 years in Copperas Cove, and one year at Stephen F. Austin as a graduate assistant. 

College: Graduate of Texas A&M University.

DEREK THURMOND

Experience: Coach Thurmond is entering his 18th year in coaching. He is entering his 1st year at Bridgeland High School.  Before coming to Bridgeland, Coach Thurmond spent 17 years at Westfield High School in Spring ISD. While there, He was the Wide Receivers coach for 12 years and the Offensive Coordinator for one year. 

College: Sam Houston State University

Personal: Coach Thurmond and his wife Sarah have 3 children. Sebastian 18, Noah 16, and Avery 11.

JA'MARCUS ASHLEY

Experience: Coach Ashley is entering his 7th year in coaching. He is entering his 1st year at Bridgeland High School. Prior to Bridgeland, he spent 4 years as the Athletic Director at Calvert HS and 2 years as a Defensive Backs coach at Bryan HS. 

College: Graduate of Texas A&M University

Personal: Coach Ashley has one son, Ja'Miyus (4). When he is not rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, he enjoys going back home to fish and saddle up the horses.

DAVONNE LAWSON

Freshman Defensive Coach/OLB/DB

Experience: Coach Lawson is entering his 3rd year in coaching in a School setting. He is entering his 3rd year as a Football/Basketball Coach at Bridgeland High School. Coach Lawson has been around sports all of his life, and has a vast knowledge of strength and conditioning. He uses his military upbringing, experiences in life, and knowledge of football/basketball to help athletes become the best version of themselves on and off the field/court.

College: Graduate of the University of Texas-San Antonio, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, and worked with the UTSA Football team.

Personal: Coach Lawson and his wife Tatiary have been married for 8 years and have 2 children: Iris, 6, and Korbin (KJ), 2. Coach Lawson loves to watch sports, hang out with his family, work on his ranch in his spare time, and volunteer in his Community. 

HAYDEN REED

College: Graduate of Texas State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Liberal Arts in History.

Personal: Coach Reed and his fiancé Casey enjoy traveling.

TIMOTHY MORRIS

Head Athletic Trainer

Experience: Coach Morris is entering his 18th year as an athletic trainer. He is entering his 9th year as the Head Athletic Trainer at Bridgeland High School. Before opening Bridgeland in 2017, he was an athletic trainer at Cypress Spring High School, Foster High School and Sealy High School. 

College: Graduate of Texas A&M University where he was a student athletic trainer for multiple collegiate sports
